Juanita Franco Creutzberg


 Juanita leads communications in Tropenbos International. She is responsible for developing and improving the communication strategy, corporate identity and publications. Together with her colleagues she translates scientific information into straightforward, easily delivered messages to be used across different communication channels. Juanita oversees the organization’s websites, social media, email communications, media outreach, and publication production. As a native Spanish speaker, she reviews, edits and translate (to/from Spanish) texts and communication products.

Juanita is a communication expert, a biologist and graphic designer, more importantly, a passionate and creative cross media publisher with a strong interest in translating and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and ideas between practitioner, policy and scientific communities engaged in the conservation, restoration and sustainable use of ecosystems.

Juanita holds a bachelor’s degree in biology with emphasis in ethnobotany and ecology from the Javeriana University in Colombia and a Master of Science in science communication from Leiden University in the Netherlands. Additional she holds an MBO in graphic design from the Art & design College Utrecht, the Netherlands.
