Forest Land Allocation: What has been Achieved?

Viet Nam - 10 April, 2012

On April 10th, 2012, TBI Viet Nam will cooperate with the Department of Science, Technology and Environment (belonging to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), the Institute of Forest Inventory and Planning, and the Department of Forest Protection to organize the “National Workshop on Forest Land Allocation: Policy and Practice”.

This workshop has been organized in Ha Noi, and will last one day. The purpose of the workshop is to assess the results obtained from the implementation of the forest land allocation (FLA) policy in Viet Nam during the last few years. The presentations will highlight the outcomes and challenges of FLA, as well as new and advanced technology applied during the process. The workshop is expected to provide sound recommendations towards improving policy-making decisions within the forestry sector of Viet Nam. At this event, TBI Viet Nam will present the results attained by the programme in the second phase, which will further elaborate the picture of FLA in Viet Nam. Additionally, presentations, contributions and feedback from participants, who are representatives from state forest organizations/agencies at central to local levels and international organizations, will allow TBI Viet Nam to further explore new project features relating to FLA, which will provide significant ideas for the upcoming phase development of TBI Viet Nam.
