The radio from a youth perspective

Colombia - 03 August, 2015

Using the radio as a means to communicate ideas about the paramo, a group of young people from the rural school of Ferralarada (IED Ferralarada) and the local knowledge holders from the National Natural Park Chingaza (PNN Chingaza) created a series of programmes called Somos Monteluna: these are the voices and stories of the Chingaza páramo. The series of programmes have interviews, reports, stories, and songs which include local testimonies and voices.

web.jpgThrough this radio project, TBI Colombia aims at strengthening local communication groups in the design and development of communications tools. The radio workshops are part of a series of meetings about participative communication under the project Comunidades de los páramos. In the interaction with the IED Ferralarada and PPN Chingaza, basic concepts related to communication were discussed (messages, public, media, communication plans, dissemination), as well as the exploration of audiovisual and radial languages.
